Makeover update

The weekend progress was kind of slow going, but here's what we have accomplished so far.
New Pendants added
The new pendant lights have an adapter so they screw right into the existing recessed lights. Easy
after-removed the doors, changed the hardware and painted in Annie Sloan "graphite" chalk paint

I decided to paint the bathroom a soft blue color.  I mixed it from several different paint colors until I had the perfect color.

I made this sign...because sometimes we all need a little reminder ;)

Until next time...

Slowly but surely

The bathroom shiplap is complete and will get painted tonight.  The hallway is also almost finished.  We had to make a run to Lowe's last night, so again we didn't get quite as much finished as we had hoped.  I did finish the cabinet I was working on (unless I decide to use a darker wax later), and my stencil for the kitchen came in, so I did that last night too.

Still trying to decide what color (if any) I want the bathroom.  I need to figure it out quickly! Opinions welcome :)

Always working around our sweet puppies, who like being right next to us while we work ;)

Game 1 of the World Series was on last night...

We got a much later start last night than we anticipated AND game one of the World Series was on.  Therefore, we didn't get a whole lot accomplished. Randy started tearing out the old wall coverings in the bathroom and I started painting one of the two pieces of furniture in the dining room that still need to be done.  Hopefully I'll have more interesting photos to post tomorrow.

P.S. GO CUBS!

Making lots of progress

Kitchen shiplap is complete!!! We still have to do the floors, but that is one of the last projects. I have some pendant lights and new accessories coming soon. I'm also going to do a stencil on the backsplash as soon as the stencil arrives (hopefully tomorrow)

Living room walls still need to be painted and it will be a while before the new furniture arrives. That green hutch that you see in the background should be painted this coming weekend.

Next up bathroom shiplap! Stay tuned.

Weekend Progress

The weekend was very busy and we got a lot accomplished.  The shiplap is up in the kitchen and it got the first coat of paint last night.

I was pretty busy painting accessories and furniture.  Below are a few examples using Annie Sloan chalk paint.

Day 6 Shiplap on fireplace wall is painted!

The Shiplap is painted on the fireplace wall!  I think it looks awesome!

We'll be taking the night off for "Senior Night". It will be Joey's last football game EVER. So emotional for him and for us.

Next up is the kitchen.  We'll get started first think Saturday morning.

Day 1-5 starting the makeover.

Last weekend we started our project. We will be making over the foyer, living room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom.  We've picked out all of the new furniture, but it won't start arriving for a few weeks.  We hope to have the entire makeover complete by mid December

This is the color palette for the entire makeover
We are starting with the fireplace. We'll begin by adding "shiplap" to the entire freestanding wall.

Randy gets started on the #shiplap
I've already started transforming some of my accessories using chalk paint. It's my first time using it, but so far I love it.  I will also try it on the marble surround on the fireplace.

I used Annie Sloan's chalk paint in "French Linen" on the marble surround

Fireplace wall complete.  Tonight we will paint the wood panels.  EXCITING!
